Legal basis
Basis: BEEG §§ 15–16 (German Federal Parental Allowance and Parental Leave Act). Parental leave must be requested from the employer in writing: 7 weeks in advance for periods before the child's 3rd birthday, 13 weeks in advance for periods between the 3rd and 8th birthday.
